I'd like to know of any angelic encounters or stories Fr. Martins, or any of his fellow exorcists, has had. Though of course exorcism ministry deals with the demonic who are, as Tolkien would say, a sleepless malice, it would be heartening to the faithful to hear about the "good guys" on our side, who are both stronger in both power and number.
What happens to a person's soul if they die during exorcism? I know God in his infinite mercy, who knows all things and sees our efforts can save anyone, and there's no way to know for sure.. but I wonder why demons fight so hard to see the person they are possessing die. If a person is perfectly possessed and no lo ger fighting the devil- thus living in harmony with him and accepting his or her fate is one thing. But a person going through exorcism is trying to rid themselves of the entity- would it not then stand to reason that that person is a child of God and should be saved? Does the devil assume if that person dies during exorcism that he's automatically going to be damned? Is that really the case? It makes more sense to me that he'd want the person to survive, so he could possess that person even more deeply.
My sister recently told me that she was listening to someone discussing witches/ wiccan women using abortions as a ritual sacrifice. They were saying IF, let's say, the intent of the person making the sacrifice (ie: the mother having the abortion) was to sacrifice this baby to the devil- that that's what happens. That this little soul was given to the enemy through his or her mother's demonic action. I have a seriously hard time believing God would allow this. I understand free will. I accept all that. But I can't believe God would allow anyone to have power over another beings soul like that. Can Fr Martins comment on this?
