I work with someone who I’m pretty sure has some sort of demonic influence(unforgiveness, extreme anger, extreme liberal, dabbled in the occult). When she is at work you there is a different feel. It’s a tension you can cut with a knife. When I see her car in the parking lot I feel my skin crawl. I do pray for her and live my Catholic faith. If she’s under an influence how can I stop feeling that way around her? No, I don’t have the option to ignore her 100%.
My twin brother and I were unbaptized, participated in a game called "Light as a Feather, stiff as board," and went trick or treating dressed as demons. Around that same time, 5 or 6, we were visited by what we thought was a witch, could have been a demon, in the middle of the night. Over the next three years, you would not believe the stuff that came out of his mouth. He taught me the "f" word, explained sexual intercourse, and proclaimed himself a member of his own church. He died an unbaptized, hopeless drunk at 51. I AM CONVINCED that he was demonically obsessed. What do you think? I, on the other hand, got baptized at 26 and have a happy existence.
Hello father, I am a deacon, and often, I am asked to bless objects of devotion and houses, but I am instructed to use the book De Benedictionibus, since it is the one with the specific blessings that deacons can pronounce. According to can. 1169 §3 a deacon can impart only those blessings which are expressly permitted to him by law.” Since the previous Rituale Romanum was published in 1956 did not contemplate having deacons impart those blessings, then we are instructed not to use it. Moreover, there was a dubia submitted to the, now defunct, Comission Ecclessia Dei, where this question was posed and it was responded in the negative (Here is is the link to the doc: https://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2018/01/dubia-answered-warning-for-priests.html). In the episode "The Origin of an Exorcist" it is recounted how you blessed salt and water using the prayers of the previous book while being a deacon. It puzzles me how the demons, being as legalistic as they are, had no issue with this technicality. Can you elaborate on this? Thanks. Dcn. Gus.
Hello Father Martins, I’m not sure if you ever spoke about this on the podcast but whether God shared with you any specific signs or moments that revealed your calling to the priesthood and/or to become an exorcist. If not, could you briefly talk about this? Also good luck on the new book!
