“Invoking” the demonic

Someone once told me that by saying a demon’s name, you invoke it, or basically open the door to get possessed. So I’ve always been careful not to say any names (for any that I know). Is this true? Or is it dependent on intent?

Discernment of Spirits/ What to do when something appears

Someone I know is a victim of domestic abuse. One day, she was in the washroom, and felt something eerie. She looked in the mirror, she saw a girl that looks like her behind her, standing there bruised and battered, and when she took a second look, she was gone. Being a victim, how do you know if this is demonic oppression versus a “sign” to take action or a warning, rather? What should she do in a situation like this?
