Curious questions while listening to the podcast
Questions for your consideration: 1. What is depicted as horrible demons in paintings and in the movies just the result of someone's imagination? Or have some people actually seen them and that is what they look like? 2. Kind of related, some people who have taken ayahuasca say they see little green elves. I know there's no way to know for certain but could they be seeing demons? 3. During exorcisms, do demons ever stir up doubts or strife for the exorcists by pitting Protestant interpretation vs Catholic interpretation? Thanks for your time and God bless your work!
Renounce Association with College Fraternity?
Hello Dr. Martins, I was in a college fraternity over 30 years ago. I recently found out that the fraternity was started by a group of men who were Freemasons (back in the mid-1800s). Would you recommend that I completely disassociate myself from the fraternity? For example, should I contact the national organization and ask to have my name removed from their records? I’m not even sure that is possible. Looking back, many of the things we did as far as rituals and initiations definitely had a Masonic feel to them. I was young and naive and had no idea back then what the Masons were about!
Evil Eye
Please excuse my ignorance, but what is an Evil Eye? I had a coworker give me a necklace with an “evil eye” pendant on it to “protect me” but as a Catholic I don’t know what it is or what to do with it. Is it pagan or superstition? Should I throw it out? Grateful for any knowledge/wisdom/guidance that you can provide! God Bless!
Dear Father Martin
My name is Edwin and I've been listening to the files for a long time now, and then I had the urge to go to confession but never did, came back to my country (Puerto Rico) and on the last days of September I said to the virgin Mary that I will give her my life to her if she gave me a job that I asked her for, so on the next day I started praying the rosary twice a day and on my birthday that was on October 2nd I went to confession for the first time in 20 years, I've been crying alot because I felt guilty I didn't do it sooner, so my question is I've been having this urge to know more about demons and study more about them, is that a bad thing or should I keep studying?
